Educational Assistant IV - Severe Needs (Castle Rock Elementary)

About the Role
Provides assistance to special education teachers at Douglas County School District. Assists in instruction, medical, and health needs of special education students with severe needs. Supports daily functions and life skills instruction.
Responsibilities
- Support daily and long range lessons under direction of certified teacher
- Assist students with daily functions including food preparation and toileting
- Administer and document prescription medication and perform medical procedures
- Collaborate with special needs team and other specialists
- May provide classroom supervision in absence of teacher
- Communicate with parents and school personnel as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in educational environment preferred
- Verbal and written English communication skills
- Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
