Educational Assistant IV - Severe Needs (Iron Horse Elementary)

About the Role
Provides assistance to special education teachers at Douglas County School District. Assists in instruction, medical, and health needs of special education students with severe needs at Iron Horse Elementary in Parker.
Responsibilities
- Support daily and long range lessons to meet IEP goals
- Assist students with daily functions including food preparation and toileting
- Administer and document prescription medication and perform medical procedures
- Collaborate with special needs team and other specialists
- May provide classroom supervision in absence of teacher
- Communicate with parents and school personnel as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in educational environment preferred
- Verbal and written English communication skills
- Computer skills including word processing, database, and spreadsheets
