Responsibilities
- Designs and instructs aquatic fitness classes in conjunction with aquatic certification guidelines. Has the ability to demonstrate exercise modifications for all fitness levels.
- Sets appropriate and safe structures for aquatic fitness classes. Ensures participants have a quality fitness experience while following HRCA program policies and procedures.
- Ensures the safety of participants by implementing and monitoring procedures to meet safety guidelines/expectations. Completes incident reports as required.
- Takes accurate class attendance following the HRCA Fitness guidelines.
- Inform the Fitness Team Leader/Coordinator of all incidents, complaints, and unfavorable situations immediately.
- Takes responsibility for the safe and effective use of program equipment. Reports any equipment concerns and identifies supply needs. Sets up and takes down equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge of fitness, health, and wellness principles and how to apply them in teaching fitness classes. Must be aware of physical modifications for individuals of all ages/abilities. Must be able to plan, develop, and implement a class curriculum as established by certification. Must be dependable, reliable and exhibit exceptional leadership skills and qualities. Requires bending, pushing/pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and climbing to perform tasks normally associated with this position.
