Recreation Specialist - Events

About the Role
Plan, organize, and execute Town events and programs for Castle Rock Parks and Recreation from concept through completion.

Responsibilities
- Independently plan, organize, and execute select Town events and programs
- Coordinate and manage vendors, contractors, and internal staff
- Lead on-site event operations; direct staff during setup and teardown
- Support Supervisor on policies, workflows, and long-term event strategies
- Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring of Event Staff
- Support Special Event Permit process
- Collect event feedback and prepare post-event evaluations
- Maintain accurate financial records and budget reconciliation
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners
- Work nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed

Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Associate's Degree in Business, Event Management, or Hospitality (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3-4 years experience in event planning including one year leading staff
- Valid Driver's License
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; event management software preferred
