The Salvation Army (TSA), Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men and women in completing our drug/alcohol rehabilitation program. Our employees share in the contribution toward maintenance and effectiveness of the program which provides a greater sense of purpose and opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management and rotation, ARC merchandising standards (CNO Standards) and donations.
- Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations (including personnel and cash handling) in the absence of the Store and/or Assistant Manager. Discuss concerns with District Sales Manager.
- Assists Store Manager to monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive store sales and profitability as projected by budget and goals set by Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
- In the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, schedules store employees to ensure appropriate coverage in-store and at the donation center. Coordinates daily morning and shift change team meetings. Provides coaching, training, and development to the store employees. Responsible for processing of paperwork per Review Standards, especially related to Time and Attendance compliance.
- Ensures high levels of customer and donor satisfaction through excellent service to meet their needs while maintaining good community relations. Develops strategies to improve service to maximize the customer experience.
- BRP (Back Room Processing) – Supports Store Manager to ensure Back Room Processors/Warehouse Associates work effectively and efficiently to meet daily processing goals.
- Responsible for supervision, support, and conduct reporting of program beneficiaries if Work Therapy Assignments are put in place at the store.
- In the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, responsible for the protection and security of store currency, inventory, and property, including safe funds, bank deposits, products for sale, store equipment, and building security.
- Ensure the building is secured during non-operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.
- Ensure safety measures are established and maintained consistent with ARC policy and governmental regulations, and that safety issues and incidents are reported immediately. Assist Store Manager and Assistant Manager with conducting and recording mandatory Weekly Store Meetings.
- May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of previous retail experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers and donors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a continuous or intermittent basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
